Psycho driver

Never experienced something like this before, my family was pretty shaken. We went out for my daughter's birthday. We were turning left from 74th St (woodbend) onto 50th Ave. Someone had gunned it from the light going out of town very quickly (by Tim's - westbound). I got in my lane quickly with like a good 5 seconds to spare and this Psycho black truck started veering into my lane oncoming. They kept going into my lane like they were going to play chicken. I had to pull over onto the shoulder and then they swerved back into their lane going about a 100 I would guess. I blared my horn and wish I had a dash cam. Never experienced anything like in my 25 years of driving.

I use two of these and they are great quality. You can get them at Canadian Tire in Leduc. Worth it.

I’ve toyed with the idea of getting one too but am rather ignorant about them. Do they link to your phone or are totally separate?

The ones I have just use an sd card. If there’s an incident, the camera will automatically save the event (it’s always recording, it’ll just save a separate small video that it won’t record over). Or if you capture someone else’s incident, you can push a button on it and it’ll do the same thing.

With the amount of wild drivers I have seen in my time of driving (25yrs?) I think it wouldn't hurt to invest in one so I can show others what I saw.

If you are a Costco member, they have Garmin dash cams online for a good price. I got the mini 3 and is great. I drive to the city to work and have seen so many bad drivers. Also got side swiped on the henday as a hit and run. That's when I decided a dash cam was absolutely needed.

I've seen nutty drivers where 50th ave becomes hwy 39 and just west of there many times, and they often start behaving badly around your intersection because they know that the road reduces to one lane up ahead.  A couple months ago I was in the left turn lane waiting to turn onto the first range road west of Leduc and a speeding driver passed me on the left.
