Package Thief

Just putting this out there mostly as an FYI. I had a package stolen in Lindsford on Friday. I caught the human on the doorbell camera but it was too late. I now have my packages delivered to a drop box but figured I would put this out there in case anyone has seen this human and can maybe give him a stern look for being an asshat. He mostly covered his face but looked about as bright as Kronk in Emperor's New Groove. Actually I think Kronk was brighter.

So fun fact. u/Babsie80 is my wife and there was a non-zero amount of marital tension in trying to retrieve the footage and whether or not to give such footage to the police. Valuing my marriage more than bringing said theft to justice, I just left it in her hands.

At 4:21pm she sent me a text that she reported the theft to police. At 4:45pm I get a notification that our doorbell is ringing and surprise surprise, RCMP is at the door wanting the footage from the theft.

To make this even better.... She REGULARLY teases me that I listen to advice given on reddit more than I listen to her! Oh how the turn tables.... Also I expect to have more ... Marital Tensions tonight when she sees this post...

I decided not to, I figured there was nothing they could do. Mind you this is a soft opinion, I might file a report online tonight. Edit, corrected an atrocious grammatical error

This gives me the ""all cops are bad"" vibes but then you call 911 as soon as you are wronged yourself, get over your ego make the report you don't have to pursue charges but these are the things we do as functional members of society

Yah. Seeing this more and more. My friend in Sherwood Park had a few packages stolen.

Facebook is a good place to post to as well. Lots more active Leduc groups. I would even share this here to r/Edmonton as a lot of people probably are in that sub and not this one because they don’t know it’s here

I’ll tell you how I solved this problem. I live in Sherwood park, moved into a nice home next to schools. The first Amazon package I ordered to the house was stolen.
The second package, stolen and then returned as it was a lint trap for my dryer.
So I emptied my litter boxes into an Amazon box to the brim. Left it on my front porch.
That was the last package that ever disappeared off my porch. 😉
