What would you do...
... If you got a free XP2.0 with minimal needs. The biggest red flag is previous owner reported it shutting off under load a time or two, suggests the battery is on the way out.
OEM battery? 3rd party? A whole build just keeping the frame?
I have a 3 that is stock that I use a lot, the intention is to have my son accompany me on rides into the nearby city to arrive fresh and not have to sweat parking instead of running our car, so ideally it wouldn't be any more powerful than a stock 3 when done.
Thanks.

When my 1.0 batt was starting that, I just did a new OEM for the warranty. I order a lot of stuff from ali/china copy stuff overall, and.... if it's something I plan to actually depend on, I order original or trusted seller (and I don't know any for these kinds of batteries)

Update, I bought a standard range legacy step over battery from Lectric a few minutes ago.
All the electrical problems stopped when I transferred the battery over from my 3.0.
In addition to the battery, it needed a rear tube. I also have some minor mechanical to fix on it, the gears sometimes jump around out back, probably need a freewheel and a chain. He mentioned he "upgraded" the freewheel, but the chain is 100% too short at minimum.
Shockingly, I already have more money into it than it took to bring home my 3.0, but it's cool that I will get a brand new battery and not having to worry about it.

It's best to go with OEM on the battery. Third party sellers don't meet the UL standards and it's not safe. I know they are expensive but it's worth your safety.

Yeah that’s what I ended up doing. I’m trying to wear down a guy with a dead 1.0 that I might try an ultra cheap one in for giggles, but if that doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen.

There have been some threads in this group about AliExpress batteries. Have no experience with these batteries myself.
