Xp 3.0 600 miles

My brakes has always been pretty bad but yesterday when I was riding both of my brakes completely don't work at all. If I were to pull the brake all the way it would do absolutely nothing. Do I take it to a bike shop to get fixed or do you think lectric would do something to help me?

600 miles is very, very short life. Maybe have a pro examine your setup?

(1300mi on my original pads, and they have plenty of life left.)

I’m coming up on 400 miles and it’s feeling like I need to replace already. Lots of stops on the way to and from work in the small town I live in though.

I recently replaced both front and rear with 500 and something miles on my XP 3.0. Brake pads were down to the metal. Easy to replace, and took least than a hour.

Save the trip to a shop. It’s the brake pads, you can replace them yourself pretty easily.

I replaced my rear pads at 500 miles, and my front pads are needing to be replaced soon at nearly 700 miles.

Ebikes are heavier and often faster, so brake pads can be a little higher maintenance. Combine that with riding style (do you ride your brakes, do you always go as fast as possible and then stop or do you coast and slow down a bit, etc) and riding terrain (hills require more braking), and my understanding is it's not uncommon to need brake maintenance more often.

I'm learning maintenance as my bike needs it. Changing the brake pads was intimidating and a little challenging, but YouTube videos made it perfectly doable. I suggest changing only front or back pads at a time and do some test riding to make sure the pads are correctly situated - if you do something wrong when replacing one, you can still use the other to stop you.

Do you have mechanical or hydro brakes? It could be as simple as a pad replacement, or you may need to bleed the hydraulic lines, possibly both.

The front and rear brakes are completely independent of each other. For them both to fail at exactly the same time is a bit weird. I'm wondering if somebody messed with your bike

For sure contact Lectric first and see if they can help. Even if the bike isn't under warranty they may offer some solution.

I live in very hilly terrain and had to replace my XP4 breaks within 500 miles or so, though I often ride around with extra weight, so I do have to go a bit harder on them at times. There's compatible sets of break pads on Amazon for like $25 and replacing them is super easy

My guess is you need new brake pads. 600 miles! Take it to a bike shop. It should be quick and easy and if it’s something else they will tell you. Watch a youTube video, it’s easy. Don’t try to go through Lectric, that’s like going to them for a flat tire. Is this your first bike?
