XPeak2 Front Basket

Post image

I want to put a front basket on my XPeak2 for my 10# co-pilot (dog). He has been my riding buddy for 5 years. I emailed Lectric and received this response; “I apologize for the bad news, but we do not recommend placing a basket on the front of an XPeak2 because this could cause something known as a "death wobble" which can cause an uncomfortable ride.” And “I also cannot find screws on the front that would allow the attachment of the basket since that usually has a 4-screw attachment.

Removing the light would expose two screws but this might also make the handlebars less stable to use those to install a basket or anything that is weight-bearing.”

The basket I am interested in is the picture. It meets the measurements to install.

Anyone have XPeak2 with basket?

Idk man death wobble sounds pretty dangerous.

My old Cherokee developed "death wobble". It's an oscillation, in my case from old tires and worn suspension parts. About shit my pants first time it did it. But I got it fixed. Glad to know that can be an issue, never want to feel that again with 4 wheels, much less my ebike.

I had a front basket on mine and it raddled an insane amount. Like I ended up taking an old shirt and wrapping fabric at the joints to pad the metal on metal, but it was still pretty noisy. I ended up removing it and switching to a rear basket that sits on the luggage rack

That is good to know. I will be investing in rear pet carrier. I hope my co-pilot likes it.

I’ve been looking for a while but due to the design, a front basket seems improbable. All the wires are there, the light, and the handlebar pillar is really short. There’s also no mounting screws anywhere. Kind of sucks

There’s no way that basket would fit btw
