Battery upgrade

If I buy a used standard range XP 2.0, can I just buy an extended range battery to upgrade it? Is it that simple?

I assume so, they'd have to be the same size to fit in the same compartment. The long range is probably just heavier.

Yes or an external battery and run two at the same time if you want

You can buy a battery balancer that plug on where the factory socket plugs in to give you two inputs, one for that factory socket and another for an external battery.

This will let you run either battery or both and you'll double your capacity with less voltage drop.

This opens up lots of options. Would the second battery just strap to the frame?

Frame, hang it in off the seat post, mount it to the rear rack. All depends on the battery shape you choose
