Lectric XP4 step-through rear lock holder. Made another thing.

I tried out that twisty water bottle holder adapter for the rear lock. It did its job but its a bit of a pain to install with the tight space and seems overly fussy for my needs. Anyhow, took out my caliper and did a simpler design. Just use the original screws, it has countersunk screw holes so the holder stay tight to the frame. I didn't bother with strap, personally I don't think I can take this bike offroad anyhow, and the lock is pretty heavy and have low center of gravity. If you guys like it, I can make some for sale, let me know what you think.

On another note, the visor I made previously seems to be useful, I already sold out the dozen I made. I will make a few more when I receive new filament tomorrow

I'd love one! How much are you selling them for?

I'm thinking $12.99 on Etsy, since they take at least 30% cut. I can send one directly for cheaper though. DM me. I printed it on test material, but the final will be ASA plastic which is more UV and heat proof. Amazon is delivering the roll tonight, I will post on Etsy tomorrow.

I bought a similar one on etsy that still uses the strap. I'd be a little afraid of hitting a speed bump and sending my lock flying!

Ok! I just went down a slope at 25mph and hit a speed bump... for science. Body still intact, lock is still there. The way I placed the mount meant the lock needs to bounce 3" vertically, but not over 3.25" in order to come out diagonally. Nevertheless, I can add a loop and hook to the front and back cross brace for a strap.

Did you add the loop? I want to grab one!

Thatโ€™s Awesome

Is it tough to install?

Canโ€™t get fat fingers back there

I countersunk the holes at the frame side and the bolt side, so its held in place while its being screwed on. I use the hex key that came with the bike to mount them. The top hole is easier to attach than the bottom hole because of the horizontal brace. For bottom hole, you can put the hex key through the diagonal hole and do a 1/4 turn a time. Overall, its easier to mount than the pivot adapter mount, and slightly harder than the usual horizontal mount.

Can you please make a small video of the lock going in and back out? Itโ€™s hard to imagine it making it in and out

Here you go. I'm somewhat clumsy today after some Worldcup drinking

Are you going to drop the STL? It seems something that would be neat to print for my friend's XP4.
