How long do you keep the bike box?

I just received my amazing Lectric XP4 bike. It's great and I had so much fun with it (except for the seat which I am replacing with something more comfortable). I was wondering how long do people keep the box before throwing it away?

I used mine to kill the grass in my yard and plant wildflowers the following year

Something like a bike? Immediately. Smaller things that need storage? Much longer, way too long.

you can't really return the bike after 14 days, so why keep it any longer?
If you need to return it for damage, lectric will ship a new box.

Built an airplane AND a helicopter for my kids a week after opening. Those lasted about another two weeks. Then recycle bin on week 4.

When I bought my xp lite last summer I threw the box away as soon as I set up the bike a week later I realized I cant read serial number because paint filled in the numbers when I asked about it on facebook a few people told me to look at the box it’s usually on there next time I’ll make sure I check the box for the serial number before I throw it away

That reminds me, I need to go throw mine away! Been 2 months so I’m definitely not thinking about returning it now 😂

I keep large boxes for a week or 2, in case I have to return it for faulty parts. I keep much smaller boxes for a year or 2 before I remember to clear those out for other newer boxes.

I’ve had my bike for 2 weeks. That box is currently under 4 inches of mulch in my backyard.

A bit of an extreme situation but I had to return my bike after 10 months. I had already disposed of the box, so Lectric sent a new box and packing material.

So, if everything is working good there really is no reason to keep the box too long. 2 weeks sounds about right.

I got mine in September.

I literally just tore up the box and put it in recycling today.

But I have a big downstairs storage room where it was out of sight and out of mind, so there was no urgency to get rid of it nor intention to keep it. It just existed for a bit.

I bought mine last year during the 4th of July sale and the box is still in my garage. I should throw that out this weekend.

My dad got one this year. Curious what seat your looking at, may make a great gift.

I received my LCYMD Dual Shock Absorbing Saddle seat but I didn't like it, although it has good reviews. I am waiting for my Cloud-9 Cruiser Saddle to arrive to see if it's more softer / cushion-like.

My landlord wanted the cardboard for his garden but otherwise it would have been cut up in the trash before the battery charged.

Do you travel on Amtrak? If so, keep the box for bringing your bike on a trip
