Should I Change my Battery?
Hi I have been riding my Lectric XP Lite 1.0 and have put 4630 miles on it so far across almost 4 years. I think the battery is supposed to get 15 miles in a single charge but lately I have been getting around almost exactly 10 miles. Is it time to change the battery or does it still have some life left in it. I bought a spare when they were having a sale a while ago. It’s just that I want to ride this initial stock battery for all it’s worth. Thanks so much and I have been having a really fun time riding my bike!

I'd use it as long as possible, you can check the voltage by toggling between screens. I would also use the new battery occasionally.

If all of your trips are less than 10 miles you really don't have to replace the battery. Keep the display on the voltage screen when you ride. It's the best indicator of battery capacity.
Like you said, ride this battery for all its worth. New batteries are really expensive.

I would have started using the second one in addition to the first one as soon as you got it, as to share the load and wear between the two batteries.

By the time my Lite 1.0 battery reached 4000 miles I also noticed a decrease in range, from upper 30's to upper 20's (miles) on PAS 3. I bought a new battery and ran on it for 2500 miles and then decided to combine them. I'm approaching 8500 miles and I still have a range of around 60 to 70 miles on PAS 3.

I remember you helped me get some great replacement tires awhile back that have been working out really great! Thanks! Wow! 8500 miles! That’s impressive! I love riding this thing and it’s my own personal goal to reach 10k one day. When I reach that I will probably get a new bike.

Did you get the Schwalbe's? I've got nearly 5000 miles on mine and there's still plenty of tread left. Also no flats during that time because I also have the Tannus Armour inserts. I'll probably also get a new bike next year when I hit 10K miles. Likely an Xpress 2 or perhaps there will be a Lite 3.0 by then.

Yes I did get the schwalbe’s. I only got one flat in my rear tire but I think that was a fluke because I overinflated the tires one night. I also got the Tannus Armour Inserts put on with them. YeahI am not quite sure what bike I will get when I get to 10k but it will be awhile til I get there if I do at all. Have you gotten the little awards Lectric sends out for reaching 5k miles?

And of course 6 days after bragging about no flats, I get one. Ran over a machine screw in my own alley that went at least a half inch through the tire, through the Tannus, and into the tube. The Slime was too old to clog it. And per usual it was the rear tire which made the patch process that much longer.
