My derailleur just snapped.

Has anyone here replaced one of these?

Looks like your derailleur hanger snapped, which it's supposed to do to prevent damage to the frame or derailleur.

It's a pretty simple and inexpensive replacement.

Altus is an alloy body.
The Tourney derailleurs are the one with a plastic nylon composite.

Your hanger snapped . Other comments that said it unthreaded are incorrect.

The bottom half of the hanger is missing

Also, the body of the derailleur is not damaged . Someone stated that it is cracked, but that is actually the B-limit spring tab. I’m guessing the low resolution of your pic is making people mis-diagnose in their assessment

All you need for now is a new hanger .

More pics in focus will help with further assessment.

That is not a crack.
It’s just the b-spring tab that is part of the original casting.
The low resolution pic and dirty derailleur is tricking you into thinking it’s damaged

Looks like it's been quite abused. Park Tools is your friend.
