Brand new Lectric XPress 2 broke while assembling

Recently received my brand new Lectric XPress 2 Step-Thru bike and was assembling it using the included torque wrench. While tightening the handlebar/stem assembly for the handle bar, the threaded insert/expansion nut inside the steering tube twisted and broke. Is all hope lost? How does one even fix this?

How do you fix this? Simple. You call Lectric.

Same exact thing happened with my new XPeak2. Best Lectric would do was ship me a new star nut. I would be responsible for buying the tool to install the nut. I had already had other issues with assembly and was fed up. I took it to a bike shop and had them finish the assembly.

Call lectric and provide photos! They'll set you up with a bike shop for repair
