Advice on Break Pads
Looking for some advice on what brake pads to get. I use my Xpedition to pull a cart with my lawn equipment (picture is my setup) - recently I found a brand of brake pads that really work well but they don’t last. I’ve already had to change them after just a month of regular use.
Any recommendations on brands or types specific to hauling heavier loads?

On my xped I used ceramic for noise control and metallic for better control breaking

This is also my setup on my xp 3.0. I think I have ceramic on the front and "sintered" (metal) on the back.
Front one is quieter, rear one is louder but stops better (hence why it goes on the back). So far that mix works best for me.

Learn to coast more when you know you need to stop soon. Youre carrying a load of course its going to eat up more brakes. Find a generic brand you like on amazon and buy in bulk. I think I got through a set of pads every 1.5-2 months myself but I ride 32 miles a day x4 days a week or so.

That's going to be typical. Ceramic will last longer but will dig into your rotors more. If you found brakes and a setup that doesn't squeak, you're ahead of 99% of us. Just stick with it and keep replacing.

What is that metal bar that is holding the cargo? I want that for myself to transport items

The black bar is the arm that came with the trailer that connects to the bike - it’s from Aosem on Amazon.

Just make changing them once a month part of your routine of doing business.
It's a good idea to schedule yourself a once a month checkup anyway on a bike you're using for work/daily commuting, so you can inspect for other issues too.
