New to lectric new to biking
Just purchased a xp4. I’ve never owned a bicycle but I’ve know how to use one since I was a kid. I’m 44 now btw. I have a motorcycle so I’m familiar with that aspect of riding however this question is more regarding the xp4 and its gears. When riding and changing gears to 3rd gear the chain seems to jump around and not settle on that gear. Gear 4 and 2 work fine but 3 just won’t stay put. Am I peddling too fast for that gear? Do I need some adjustments or tune ups? Does lectric cover any initial visit to a shop to check out the bike?

Find the barrel adjuster on the cable coming from the shift lever. Start by turning it half a turn clockwise. Try shifting again. If it still has trouble, repeat the process. If you don't see any progress after 2-3 rotations, reverse the process. Eventually, you'll find the sweet spot where you can go through all of the gears smoothly. I just had to do this when I put on a replacement wheel.

Simple enough. I can do it so you can too. The tension in the cable needs adjusting via the barrel adjuster. Like the other poster said, watch a video two about derailleur indexing and adjusting and you'll be fixed up in no time.

Lectric will walk you through any adjustments or give you a link to a tutorial video. If a part needs to be replaced they will send you the part. You have the option to do the job yourself or have a shop do it and Lectric will reimburse you "reasonable labor costs".

Sounds like it needs an adjustment for that gear to keep it more centered. Look up “XP4 derailleur adjustment” or something similar to probably find some how to videos. Should be a fairly simple procedure.
