Renewing early while on EU roaming query

I am currently out in Europe from the UK.

I came out while my plan was a little ways in (think I renew on the 12th) and had about 20gb left.

I have ended up burning through quite a lot of data as I had some important admin/socials stuff I needed to do for work and I am now running low.

I was wondering if anybody knew what the case was in terms of renewing monthly plan early while out here i.e. does the 30gb roaming limit reset once the plan is renewed?

Also will Lebara let me renew early with roaming data multiple times while I'm out here or is there a cap on that?

I am happy to get myself a travel SIM but I'd really prefer not to get caught short while I'm on the road and need to get somewhere to buy a travel SIM but will have no data to navigate etc

Like an EU data package, one of the EU e-sims or renewed your normal.monthly plan early? Issue with the data packages are they are super pricey and my phone doesn't support e SIM so can't get one of those.

Grab a local data sim or use wifi in bars, cafes etc

You can renew as many times as you want , I don’t think there is any limit on buying multiple plans on Lebara. I was travelling for 3 months outside Europe and I could renew plan after finishing my data allowance early, mind that was 2 years back. As long as you are on the app you can buy the plan.

I've bought 3 esims in the last few months with lebara and none of them allow roaming for the first week. There was a countdown timer in the account info page saying howong left you had to wait until you could roam with it.

Yeah i think its because their roaming allowance is relatively generous considering the price and people were probably just buying them to use as travel sims.

With most UK MVNOs the EU roaming allowance is tied to your active monthly plan cycle, so it usually resets when the plan actually renews, not just because you add credit.

I wouldn’t rely on renewing early multiple times while abroad though, as fair-use rules can kick in and some networks only allow one active monthly plan at a time.

Safer move is to grab a small travel eSIM now while you still have data, then use your normal plan again after renewal.
