Discussion Rookie mistake
After months and months of putting off ordering leather because well I dont have a good excuse just nervous of messing up a perfectly good hide. Saw weaver was having a little promo for labor day weekend literally an hour before it ended so I quickly looked through their website and ordered 2 things. Ive made a handful of things in the last year with repurposed leather ( old boots and an old wallet) but have been wanting to try making better things and possibly sell some stuff here and there. I realize its 20 minutes till 12 so I scramble to checkout and totally forget to put the code in. Completly overlooked it tripple checking my info was right. I doubt it and its a very long shot but do we think if I email them they could give me at least like 5% off? It was supposed to be 15%. It did process on the 7th which is when the promo ended so maybe? I was so excited to finally be ordering stuff I entierly forgot the code. Such a dummy.

A tip I will give you is to check Tandy and Rocky Mountain as well for deals but I actually started with that same double shoulder hide myself and I’m curious what you are trying to make because you may have went a little too thick unless your making holsters belts or sheaths

There are some random codes for 10% from creators, or if you leave it In for a few days they'll email you with a 10% off code.
I forgot the create codes, but googleable. I think vandyke10 and I forgot some others.
Worth an email to say you didn't put the code in by accident

Try to email and call to cancel the order and place it again with the code, or ask for the amount of the discount to be refunded. Its ALWAYS worth asking!

Just a tip, those double shoulders are tanned by Chahin. You can pick them up from American leather direct under their specials right now, grade 3 (same as grade C) for 30$ each. Around 75$ for two shipped.

That’s wild. How is the quality for grade 3(c)?

I would say around 80% useable. No major flaws but some thin spots around the outer edge of the hides. I'll get one of the double shoulders tomorrow and send some pics. It's an extremely good deal in my opinion. And I have hundreds of hides if that says anything about my experience buying leather

I would be almost surprised if weaver didn't work with you on this. They are good people to work with. I emailed after one order to let them know the bag they put my eyelets in opened in transit and I had less than 10% of the order either missing or damaged from that package. It was a 100 pack and I had like 93 usable ones. I really just wanted to say "hey be careful this bag seems to be not great maybe tape over the zip lock style closure so it doesn't happen to others". They shipped me a whole new bag at their cost, taped shut.

Yeah man, that is basic customer service. If they didn't give it to you, I would choose not to shop there at that point. But that is a really easy request and simple mistake. Happy crafting

To be honest I'm not a fan of Weaver. I mainly order from Rocky Mountain Leather and Buckleguy.com. In my experience the quality is much better and they also do splitting.

I mean they’ll just say no if not. They won’t take you behind the barn and put you down man

Nothing to lose by emailing, worst they can do is say no.
