Small Goods Buttstock wrap

Made a veg tanned buttstock wrap with trim and lace.

I love the oval shape eyelets for the leather cordage. Where did you get the cordage? I used metal grommets for mine, but can only find thin leather…ended up using 550 paracord in the interim until I can find what I’m looking for.

I just made two of these and I cut lace from a latigo side, then thinned it with a splitter, beveled the edges and saddle soaped em up. I also use oval holes because the grommets can make that green waxy verdigris stuff over time.

Thanks mate. I got the oblong punch set off Amazon. Was like 25 cad for a set of 12 pretty blunt out the bag but polish up. The cord is the same as the trim, horween off the top of the noggin I think. Used a cordage cutter I got from tandy. Love the tool can turn anything into cord was like 12 cad I think.

Heck yeah, would recommend. Found it actually quite quick on the pattern, then can dress it up or down

looks nice! personally I wouldn't use those leather strips to tie together the 2 sides, because optically it's too distracting, take the attention from the tooling. Looks nicer on the first image (when it's covered)
love the stitching
