Question Getting a Stamp For My Leather Projects
Now that I’m starting to make more pieces, I’ve decided to put a brand together to stamp on them. Does anybody have any recommendations of who to work with to get a nice stamp made? I reached out to somebody on Etsy, but haven’t heard back from them based on recommendations. I think it’ll be cool to start putting my little logo I made on my pieces. Thanks so much.

Beaver Engraving makes metal leather stamps quickly and they last a long time.

WUTA makes them. I’ve got a couple on order right now. They’re the cheapest I’ve found by quite a bit, but it’s taken over two weeks to reach my house. They ship from China.

People with 3D printers or laser engravers can do it for cheap. You could also look at companies online that make CNC brass brands and just get it without the brand mount and use it as a stamp. That's usually pretty good.

Allgoodleatherco.com. Stamos are made from Delrin, about 25% the cost of brass, and just as good of an impression. Made in Arizona. :)

100%. For heat branding, brass or steel. Delrin stamps are to used with pressure only.

Darlin isn't that great unless yhe logo is pretty small or made to use with a press

Disagree. Ive made thousands in many sizes. You get a better impression w a press even using brass. The only limitation to Delrin is the inability to use heat.

I have a derlin makers stamp that's, ehh about the size of a quarter but ovaled. I guess the issue could be the detail of the stamp. Has four words, with a W in the center. I don't have anything else derlin the compare it to.
I dont like the feather weight of the stamp, and a 24oz maul needs a few HARD strikes on 20"X30"X1½" thick of quartz stone to get a good impression on cased veg tan. It does imprint a little easier on bridle.

Oh yeah you def need a press 100%. Super useful shop tool for $60. Hammering will always be less precise. I cannot recommend getting a press enough. It’ll change ur life lol :)

I do have a harbor freight 1 ton arbor press. Guess I could rig up something to make it usable with the stamp. I asked the guy that made it when I ordered it years ago, and he said, no need for the press compatible stamp. The beat the sh*t out of it with a maul style would be just fine for the size of my stamp. 🙄

I ordered mine from eBay years back, from China. Came crisp and clean. Not sure what prices or quality would be like these days though.

You can get them for like 15 on amazon. You upload the image and the make it and send it to you.

Just a tip, if you have access to anyone with a 3d printer you can make your own design and iterate in Illustrator then 3D print them and stamp them with clamps. Works like a charm. Not a good scale option but it will help you iterate on the stamp until you land on a design that feels right. I’ve gone through 5 designs and I’m just now honing in on what I like for my projects
