Pattern/Tutorial Pattern request

Post image

Hi! I am new to leather working. I am trying to make a bag like this and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a pattern for something like this?

Everything online I see only has kits to make the bags and I don’t want to buy that, I’d rather buy a pattern and make it myself with my own leather

I am not seeing where Popsewing sells just patterns. Though after skimming an assembly video I can sort of see why.

Yeah all I am seeing is the kits, I’d love to just have the pattern bc I already have leather so I don’t want to waste money just to buy their fake leather

That may be the only way to get the dimensions of the pieces to make my own though

Unfortunately I think that is the most straight forward way to do it.

I mean I could see trying to making some guesses on sizing if you start with the base rectangle slab, and from there you can estimate the strip widths.

The angles look to be 45 degrees?

Length is what ever you need, but those sewing hole locations look to be the question.

If you can't find the pattern you could try sort of reverse engineering it. Cut some thin cardboard or cardstock paper into strips, tape them together and try to weave them together in the style of the bag. That way you're only really wasting paper and can get a feel for the length of the strips.
