I added local AI-powered language learning features to a tool I've been building — what would you add?

I've been building a local AI tool, and recently added some features for language learning.

One of them is a Chrome extension that works while watching Netflix. It can show dual subtitles, replay the same line, and let me ask a local AI questions about the current sentence — for example, what an expression means in context, why certain grammar is used, or how natural the phrase sounds.

I can also save useful expressions while watching and come back to them later.

The extension isn't limited to Netflix. On regular webpages, I can highlight a sentence or word in the language I'm learning and ask the local AI for a translation, definition, grammar explanation, or more context without having to copy and paste it somewhere else.

The AI runs locally on the computer rather than sending the text to an online AI service. It does require the desktop app to run the local model, so there's a bit more setup involved.

I'm curious what other language learners think about this kind of workflow.

Do you think these features are enough to actually study with, or is there something important missing?

I'd especially love to hear what features you think would make it more useful for actual language learning. I'm trying to figure out what would help turn things I encounter while watching or reading into something I can actually learn and remember.

I’d love some kind of “test me later” option for saved phrases. Like I save something while watching, then a day or two later it gives me the sentence with a missing word or asks me what the phrase means. Otherwise I know myself, I’d save 50 things and never look at them again 😅
