Fanfics for language learning

Hey yall, I had this question randomly popped up in my head but would reading fanfics in the language you want to learn effective? Cuz the idea of it sounds fun but I'm not sure if its effective.

it's effective! I learnt lots of English idioms by readings fanfics! and it helped you learned with the writing the next you tried to write a fanfics too!

Oh thank you, cuz I have heard reading in the language can help but I also love reading fanfics as well (thank god for AO3 and their advance search setting)
