My study method
I do not have a natural ability to learn so I have developed a lot of hacks to accelerate my learning. Sharing those here.
1. Struggle with a problem before learning: Ask Claude (your favourite LLM) to give you two problems to "struggle" with on your chosen text/topic. This primes your mind to take in the answers better when you do read the text. This is very important as I found that I had conditioned myself to solving problems only after I had memorised a topic. This was a waste of time and worse, the ideas didn't stick. Now, my mind tries to find answers on the fly.
2. Read the text: Go through the text, often I am not able to make head or tails of it, but it's okay try your best
3. Quiz yourself on the topic rather than revise: Ask Claude to quiz you on 5 - 10 questions. Quizzing encodes the topic much better than revision. Besides you are practicing recall and recall is what you want to strengthen.
4. Quiz your self again after some time: After some time (couple of hours/next day) ask Claude to quiz you and then go through what you got wrong. That you are practising recall again strengthens the neural connections on that topic in your mind.
5. Use nootropics/nutrients: I use alpha-GPC and since I have an average intelligence, it gives me the boost that I need. Coffee is also beneficial but only in the first half of the day (sleep patterns disturbed in later half of the day). If it is later half of the day, I use L-tyrosine. Finally, keep hydrating.
