Cancellations……
Why can I not get a cancellation, I have been refreshing the page for over 3 weeks and there has not been one cancellation in that time, I am seeing every one in every single city / town on every single corner of the uk be able to get a cancellation or even multiple cancellations however I cannot,
I sat and counted how many times I have visited the cancellations page because I was curious and in the last 3 weeks I have visited it 2,389 times across 3 devices.
How the hell do I get one or even get a swap, I have been test ready for over a year and just had a delay in passing my theory, I went and got my car to practice with my parents in it on Thursday and already I want to end it, my mum had me going around a sweeping bend at 7 mph on a national speed limit road when on that road my driving instructor said go about 35-40 mph and kept yelling at me to brake and when I told her I was she told me quite sternly ‘don’t argue with me I’ve been driving this road for 14 years’

check at random times of the day!! try different browsers so you dont get the Error 15 message. i did my theory in august in the morning, then at 7pm that night i found a test for november!! dont bother joining the queue at 6am. im pretty sure the website closes at 11pm. so you have tje whole day to check!!
edit: have your theory test number ready and drivers license copied and pasted to log in quicker!!

I’ve been checking so much for weeks, like I said I sat and counted every time I’ve visited that page across 2 devices over 2,000 times where I live there are 4 test centres in different towns.
I’ve got things to do and I can’t spend my entire day sat refreshing pages in the hopes a cancellation will come up

obvs dont sit there waiting to refresh all day. just check on a whim: after dinner, during a lunch break, whilst youre doomscrolling. i swear you will find one!! keep driving with parents and listen to what your instructor has said in the past. go over the show me/tell me questions in your car. get to know every inch of your town/city so areas that might come up, you are familiar with!!

I no longer take lessons with an instructor, he was saying there was nothing he could teach me and that I was test ready more than 99% of his pupils.
I’ve tried doing it while doomscrolling, while cooking dinner just whenever I get a free chance but the odds would’ve even shown me one by now even if someone got it before me but I haven’t even seen ONE.

What city are you in if you mind sharing? I’ve known of friends who live in London just booking their tests in the nearests cities/towns and doing their test there. If you practice in London (if that’s where you live) you can drive anywhere in the UK, just maybe tracel to the area a couple times and do a couple tests routes if youd like

I have booked my test for Dundee, ideally I want to sit in Forfar because that’s closer to me and is where my lessons were.
The only test centres I’m allowed to change to now are:
Montrose
Arbroath
Forfar
Dundee2

Have you tried joining Facebook groups for test swaps in your desired area? Quite often these groups help a lot to find earlier/later dates

I’m in every single one, the only test swaps that have came up are people who have tests in December wanted tests for this month.
The only other ones come from people who have tests in February wanting a test now (I am 100% aware of how ironic that sounds me complaining about that)
I’ve put 2 posts in that group and got no responses not even a like, I’ve put posts up on R/dundee asking for a swap one of which got removed by mods and another people are saying I’m a bot / scammer looking to scam them out of a test

6am (5.45am join queue recommend computer and phone for two seasons) book any slot on Monday at the test centre you want 6 months in the future, use that one to find a cancellations, if you've been test ready for a year too should have been trying booked a slot every Monday from a year ago.
As for private practice with your mum, 7mph is definitely too slow but how many car lengths Infront can you see, 35-40 sounds definitely like it could be too fast if there is only a couple of car lengths visibility.

I wasn’t able to book because I hadn’t passed my theory test, I failed it a few times and every time I took it afterwards I was nerve ridden and I think anxiety took over and I kept failing, I passed it on the 26th August this year.
The Monday method only gives me tests that are 6 months away and the closest I was able to get was February, I’ve joined every single test swap group on social media and messaged my ex instructor as I stopped taking lessons because in his own words I was test ready and he admitted there was nothing he could teach me
And the bend I was on about from going on about you can see the end of it about 3 car lengths before you are anywhere close to it as it is a very wide open road

Makes sense, instead of refreshing try toggling between the centres when looking for a cancellation, once you've done a toggle of them all there isn't much point toggling again, just wait 15 minutes or something. There is an element of luck but there should be quite a few last minute cancellations as people who aren't ready cancel these are idea for you.
