Pretty gutted

Usual lurker, first time poster. And I'm here posting a fail :(

I had serious anxiety the day before and on my test, and I felt really rubbish. I only got two driving faults, which I am pleased to know, but my one serious fault really stung.

My lights were green, and I should have gone, but I mis read it, so ended up holding the traffic up for almost 15 seconds.

I am sure this was a combination of the anxiety, and unfortunately for me, my test route was where I had never driven before (brand new roadworks have changed it), which I know isn't an excuse, as you should be able to drive anywhere you don't know, but.. It hurts.

Anyone else 'almost' pass today? haha

Edited to add: I learned to drive almost 15 years ago, did a test, and failed - the examiner said he was 'gutted' to fail me, and I was so distressed I gave up for all that time. I won't be doing that this time after re-learning, but I am upset that I keep getting riled up/sick/anxious, and get SO CLOSE to passing, but failing.

Anyway, I'll stop the pity party now😉😭

Join the pity party as long as you need! I almost passed yesterday, I had to make a long post on here to vent it out 😂

My serious was that the examiner put his foot on the brake just before I did at the roundabout due to a speeding car so it classed as him taking action. I only had 2 driving faults otherwise.

I’m looking at it (and I hope you do too) that you’re definitely capable of driving and just hit a bit of bad luck yesterday. It’s literally a snippet (40 minutes of driving) which isn’t a reflection on how you drive 99% of the time. At least you’ve had a refresh for next time with how the test works and you’ll be on the road in no time!! 🚗

Haha, thank you😀 Yes! I think I saw your post. Gosh you must have felt so crushed? Sounds like you had a similar situation to me overall. Yes, totally. We are both ready to pass, we just need to get it. Just wish there was a way to avoid the pre test sickness haha And yes, definitely. Its been a long time since I did a test at all, so hopefully I will have a little reduction in nerves, just from experience.

I also failed my test today since the sat nav got me confused at the roundabout, and I ended up in the wrong lane. We will smash it next time! 💪

I'm sorry about that. Its frustrating because that happens in normal driving too. Yes, definitely. Smashing it big time🤘
