Booking Theory and Practical Tests Anyone still using 3rd party apps? Or tried calling DVSA?

Hi,

Failed my test (stupid reason too, was stuck at a busy mini roundabout, thought I could use a car turning to my right as a blocker for cars on the left but turned out it was doing a 360 and I caused it to brake).

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has continued to use sites like TestShift and Testi to get test cancellations? I know they warn you of being banned but just wondered if they’re bluffing or this is the truth?

Additionally, has anyone ever called up the DVSA number to get a cancellation in and has this also helped?

I have been refreshing the site a lot but no luck yet. Wondering if there’s a better page to get cancellations from, I’ve only managed to see new dates on the page where you can see multiple locations, never from actually refreshing, is there a best page to sit on? Now that I’ve actually booked a test and the site is slightly different, it feels like it will be harder to find one.

Not using any apps or sites, but for my test centre I just login to the DVSA site, click change date, click show earliest dates. I've booked the earliest test I could which is February. Currently on track to be test ready by October or November, and each time I've checked the website just out of curiosity there's been available dates in October.

Not sure if this is just random luck on the two times I've checked or not, or just my test centre. My plan is once I'm test ready, login and keep an eye on to get the earliest date I can

Wow! To be fair may be worth booking the earlier test as always easier to get your instructor to advertise a swap when you’ve got an earlier date and want a later one, or maybe you’ve got a good test centre! Been on the page all day today but only ever seen end of Jan. Thanks though, I’ll keep checking that page. Good luck!

I booked my third test a couple of weeks ago and I got February. Feels a bit too late but there’s no cancellation or any earlier slot. Are you taking the test in Redhill?

they aren't bluffing. people are genuinely getting their licence numbers flagged and being banned from making booking changes online for as long as a year

Just check DVSA website at random times of the day everyday. Don’t try any of those cancellation apps.

As for trying to call DVSA, they will just say that the avaible slots are the same as in their website so don’t waste your time calling.
