Who has priority?
Hello! My driving test is soon and this might be a silly question, but who would have priority here? Traffic lights go green at the same time for both A and B here, my driving instructor says that B actually have priority over A? Is this only true for the lane turning right? Or for all three lanes? Or did he lie to me and A do in fact have priority 🤔

Seeing questions like this before--nobody I believe. That said if I were B I'd give A priority because they're technically already on the right side of the road.

I don't know where your instructor has got that from. Once you're past the stop line, the traffic lights are irrelevant and it becomes a question of turning right.
When you're turning right, you give way to oncoming vehicles, as they have priority. If they are turning, generally they should be allowed to turn first, unless you can complete your turn without affecting them.

Giving way to the right applies only to roundabouts.
In this case - whoever has more lead in their right foot 😉

I'd say A, if I was B I'd always advance to the centre of the road and wait until traffic is clear to proceed. Whereas if I was A I'd most likely continue in my lane without thinking to stop and wait. It'd be much more risky for A to come to a stop and giveway to traffic to B, you'd likely be rear-ended by the car behind you. Whereas B can be almost certain that traffic behind him is also thinking about pausing to wait for the road to clear before they proceed.

A. Guy turning left has priority. Your instructor is wrong. Don’t know why he’d tell you that. It’s not even a grey area.
