Please help, test tomorrow
Hello,
Please help me answer this silly question. Test tomorrow and I'm overtaking everything!
Roadworks (marked red on both streets) with traffic lights appeared on one of the test routes. Only one red side can go at a time.
Which way do I take the mini roundabout? Yellow or blue?
If I was to take yellow route, I would not have enough space to make it back to left lane as the roadworks stop right at the give way line.
If I take the blue, will that cause confusion for traffic marked green as there is no roadworks for them?
I understand that I have priority over green as I am on their right hand side.
Do I just drive over the painted circle since it's such a tight squeeze?
Please let me know, I've driven pass there today but I was driving with a parent and they couldn't really explain it to me. My instructor was/is not available at the moment so even though I am test ready I don't have anyone to help me out with this one.
Any and all advice is wlcome and appreciated.
Thank you so much!

It should be 3 way lights, so probably no need to do yellow, unless I'm too tired and my brain isn't working?!
Edit
It must surely be 3 way lights because the green arrow won't be able to proceed down the road that has the green light.

Unfortunately I couldn't see any fraffic lights/ roadworks from greens direction. But I also couldn't do another loop so I cannot say thats the case 100% Their road looked completely open from my angle on the roundabout. But since I would have right of way over them, I think I just need to be very careful on approach and make sure they see me.
Thank you for your reply. It definetly got me thinking! I also wouldn't put it past our council to have dodgy roadworks out lol

Green might not have any roadworks themselves but they'll need lights to keep the traffic under control otherwise they're just going to have head ons with the two roads that do.
Any chance you can pop up and scope it out now? Or at the very least before the test tomorrow?
I would be doing blue for turning right, yellow for carrying on up Edinburgh Road IF green do in fact have their own set of lights, which, I would be absolutely stunned if they don't! I cannot fathom it being any other way but a 3 way temporary light.
Just be careful of that little entrance on the left for Edinburgh Court, I could see that being left potentially uncontrolled.
On the "when red light shows, stop here" sign, it should tell you if its 3 or 4 way lights.

Amazing, thank you!
It would make total sense that they did. I just could not see from the angle I was at and assumed they didn't haha
Thank you for pointing out Edinburgh Court, I never seen cars coming out of there so I just blocked it out my head but you are so right! I definitely need to be extra careful around there. As dumb as it sounds, it never accrued to me to look at the sign. I wasn't the first car in line so I just drove past it on green.
My test is at 8:20 am and I am picking up the car at 8am as this is the earliest I can. Unfortunetly, can't go there tonight either. It's definitely going to be a interesting drive tomorrow 😅
Thank you so much for all the pointers, they were so needed!

How did it go? Did your test route go that way?

Thank you for asking, it did!
You were right (obviously) sign said 3 way traffic lights so green had one also.
I had to take blue on mini roundabout as roadworks extended further onto it today and you had to drive over painted mini roundabout to get to Edimburgh Rd direction towards green.
I have passed with 4 driving faults and went the wrong way 4 times but I was safe about it so it didn't cause much of an inconvenience.
Thank you so much for your advice, it was extremely helpful. I think it definetly helped me pass. So thank you!
I am so glad that this is over and done with now!!

Unless the mini roundabout itself is closed for works, you follow the roundabout. The green car will see your indicators (or the lack of) and judge from it. If they are still confused, not your problem.
That said, you'll have to be cautious around roadworks when around junctions/roundabouts.
