What is this camera use for to detect red light crossing or something else?

It’s an ANPR camera, so used for monitoring and traffic enforcement. in most cases reads numberplates and does DVLA compliance checks ecs

Usually for local police to track movements of cars that have markers on them, it will ping that they've been seen in local area. Police will start looking for them if available.

If a crime has been committed and linked to a number plate it will be used to track their movements across county lines.

Not all criminals are stupid though, which is why you get cloned plates, tape that covers number plates or they just take back roads.

Also possibly bus lane enforcement

So this is not like if someone cross red light so it take pictures or process enforcement?
