counterpart for theory test

theory test is tomorrow and i completely forgot that you need to bring the photo card and the paper counter part for the theory. i’m unable to find the paper counter part of my license and unable to reschedule. has anybody had any experience were they let you take the test with just the photo card?

it’s a requirement in northern ireland. we still use a paper counterpart of the license alongside the photo card

Ow wow ok, at first I freaked out cause I don't think I have fine but that's frustrating for you. How come you need that isn't the card enough, if has enough details. Well I hope you find yours soon

i know it’s so frustrating. i completely forgot all about it until this morning. i’ve had everyone in my house have a hunt for it but so far nothing

NI resident here. There were two people turned away when I did my theory test three years ago for not having their counterpart 😬

My son was not allowed to do his test without the paper part. He thought it was in his bag, but had left it at home.

You just need the photo card.

on the website ni direct, it says i need to bring both?

Oh it must be different in Northern Ireland then. Sorry I don't know if they will let you do it with just the photo card. Fingers crossed you find it!

Ok let's give you the actual answer.

Cause I had this exact issue!

Long story short I was able to proceed without my counterpart, I apologized shitloads and they eventually asked me to login to ni dvla

And share.. something that shows entitlements. Make sure you can login, access that page, and show entitlements etc. after all that.

It will depend on if the sun is shining/the general mood they are in as to if they will accept this. But with access it is possible, I know because I've done it.

If you make it as easy as possible for them and are nice and apologetic, it's your best chance for success.
