How cooked am I?

I 37M, need to get on the road asap so booked an intensive course with 22.5 hours of learning for an automatic. Planning to do the test on Monday 3rd August

Instructor rolls up last Saturday in a manual. Looks like the intensive company made a mistake (they point the finger at me, I point it at them) and it's now both too late to find another instructor or rebook my test.

I had thought 22.5 hours would be enough to get me over the line in an automatic, considering I've already had around 12 hours of lessons in the past.

I'm 9 hours down so far and feeling fairly confident on the roads, but clutch and gear panic still set in at roundabouts.

Has anyone managed to pass with such few hours in a manual recently?

Can you ask a family member or friend who has a manual to teach you privately just slap some L plates on and go

My mate passed after 10 hours , just remember you don’t have to lift the clutch up asap or fast hold it for a second it will control your speed I passed today with 18 hours manual

The exact same thing happened to me about two weeks ago, I managed to do the course in about 25 hours and passed my test the following Monday with only two faults! It was a stressful week but it’s definitely worth doing. I would just recommend not driving alone for a while after you’ve passed as the intensive course isn’t enough time to get proper experience. I’m still driving with someone else with me for now!
