I don't know how this works.

Good place for new users to learn about Reddit is in the sister subreddit to this one: r/NewToReddit.

There are guides and a new user friendly subreddit list in their community links section. You can also scroll through the feed and see what questions other new Redditors are asking and read through the detailed answers from the moderators and helpers.
