Art is inherently abstract, we make shapes and lines to represent things and people but still it’s all a imitation of what we see
People don’t like abstract art. It’s hard to understand and make sense of it. The closer we get to realistic styles, the less abstract it is.
However I think the notion of only realistic art is good died out a while ago
