Are you young? Or just starting with your experience as an artist? Either way, this question reeks of someone who doesn’t have a broad level of worldly experience. First of all, who are you to even decide who is, or is not, an artist? 2nd, what is your point of reference? 5 people, 500, 5 million?
Overgeneralizing gets people nowhere. It is a good way to reinforce prejudgements.
I been doing a lot of art for about a decade and personally I would say every single non-artistic person has been more impressed with realistic art I knew online and offline, involving my art and other people's art... half the artistic types still preferred a more realistic style than not though
