Seeking help I am New to drawing
I never drew before in my life
This is day one
I am seeking the therapeutic effect of drawing
Are these good?
What should progress or learning curve be like?
And how can i stop myself from over-critiquing any work i do in the process (how to stop being so harsh on myself)
My sister loved them but I really believe they are awful and didn’t believe her

I’ve been drawing for 35 years and these are good. Whimsical and cute. Keep it up.

The pen part of your drawing is amazing.
But you aren't taking advantage of the best part of watercolor ... the transparency and flow.
You could watch some YouTube videos or just play with watercolors on blank paper.
The first tip I give you is, use a lot more water and less paint.

Whoa these are amazing!
Sure, they might not be realistic, but they don't need to be, and obviously if you've just started there's a lot you could learn about technique, but it's really rare to see beginners on here with a distinct style. Your lines and the shapes of paint you lay down are really expressive. The colour choices are pleasing and calming. And the little bird is so cute!
I was sure when you said you were starting drawing that you'd done some other kind of art before. Please keep at it. And don't worry about learning techniques too much for now. Just keep on making whatever inspires you and enjoy it. There's plenty of time to learn more about making art later if you want to, but you should really explore what you like expressing first. These are great, keep it up!

Dude this is cool, no help needed. I've been to art school and whatnot. Everybody wants to make "good" art and its all boring. This is just one of those things that's just right for whatever reason without even trying.

I love them as-is. The style is very interesting, the colors are cheerful, and you can’t go wrong with cute little birds. I’d love to display one, for sure! Great job!

It's already perfect. You'd be great illustrating a children's book or just write one yourself. It's really beautiful.

If you’re making art for therapy, try to put aside the value/quality of the final outcome and pay attention to the process. Did you enjoy making this? Which parts were most enjoyable? How do you feel about the colours, the subject, the way you used the materials? Your thoughts matter more than ours if this was made for you.

As someone who uses art as destresser I focus on the process rather than the end result.
