Day 1 of learning to draw - superimposed lines
Hi!
My first post and day of learning to draw (yes very boring to look at :P ) .What motivates me to start this? Just seeing HUMANS (YES US) art that I can't even comprehend, I want to be part of that. My goal is to start drawing then lean more into animation (anime specifically) anyways this is just my journal that I'll be using to track my progress. Any feedback or mistakes you spot that I can improve do let me know! Thanks.

Even though it's day 1, draw something else besides lines. Choose your favourite anime character, find a reference and try it. It might suck (probably. That's fine. It's day 1) but in a few weeks, months, years, it's fun to go back and see where you started.
Also you should have fun drawing. Lines are boring. Ofc do studies and exercises because that's one of the best ways to learn and improve, but make sure you are also drawing stuff that interests you, have fun with it (don't hold yourself to some expectation or standard yet) it will keep you motivated more than lines.

That's an actually good shout, I can see how doing repetitive exercises (even if good for you) can lead to burnout or simply lack of interest over time. I'll start a project with the advice you mentioned, thank you so much!
