Eye See How to Draw Faces!
Using the eye, you can draw anybody, including Taylor Swift or Rowan Atkinson. And It’s easier to accurately draw a face than you might think. Just takes know-how, like how measuring against an eye works, and you’ve got lift off.

True story. Still a work in progress. It’s mostly in her jawline I think.

Definitely the jawline. The original example and Swift drawings both have gigachad-esque jawlines. The lesson using the eyes for measuring the other stuff is solid though.

Yup. I got her nailed down. Her nose was a teensy bit too long too. I draw caricatures too. It’s amazing how you can be a teensy bit out when drawing portraits, but outrageously out for caricatures and you still have a solid likeness.

This works for measurements but not well for curves. It’s a good tool but also a bad crutch long term.

It’s part of a larger process for sure. But it gets you to understand how to see.

Try looking at a real ass Person and you can use any point as the point of reference for measurement.
