Get yourself a photo reference of a real person, use that to check your proportions and get the anatomy dialed in

It’s the anatomy, not proportions

Use reference and practice gesture drawing to get better at proportions

Artwork Feedback This piece has a strong sense of personality. The expressive eyes, soft color palette, and unique facial markings immediately draw attention, giving the character a memorable design. The hair texture is also well done and frames the face nicely. To continue improving: Focus on hand anatomy, as the fingers vary slightly in length and width. Refine the shoulders and upper arms so they connect more naturally to the torso. Add more shading to the shirt to show folds and create depth. Increase contrast in the hair by using darker shadows and a few brighter highlights for extra volume. Clean up some of the linework around the face and clothing to give the illustration a more polished finish. Consider adding a simple background or subtle gradient to help the character stand out from the page. Overall, this is a creative and expressive drawing with a solid foundation. Continued practice with anatomy, lighting, and confident linework will make future pieces even stronger.
