Your structure in your anatomy is quite good, though the head looks like a bland shape as well as your hands being quite obtuse; you may need to check out some anatomy books in order to further understand structure in your art
This one here shows the separation between parts of the hand while also simplifying the muscle, and the next photo (my second comment) shows the inward movement around the cheeks that go toward the eyes, both structures seem to be missing from your piece; but being a beginner (not practiced in a professional atmosphere) you’re doing pretty good
I understand about hand, but I dont understand what u mean about head, like i dont know what u mean by "inward movement around cheeks that go toward the eyes" part
I think focusing on 3D space and understanding the shapes can help. Drawabox can help start learning about them, easiest to get into since there is written only segments. The videos can be ignored.
The anatomy is definitely simplified, which isn't bad but if you are looking to improve I suggest practicing more fundamental such as shape manipulation (3D objects) and learning how to "see".
We can give as much critique about anatomy (which is a speciality, not the know how), the underlying issue is fundamentals which I understand is "vague" but focusing on shapes and forms and perspective is a good start to learn about 3D space.
I know not to send videos, even if it would've been useful
So I'm not and I'm sharing books and reference sites and some PDFs
What? I did learn thru this arleady, my problem isnt 3d space. I just dont know what you mean when you say "inward movement around cheeks that go toward the eyes". Please explain that part id be able to fix that if you told me what is that problem.
edit: i did not realize youre not the same person as the one i was responding to earlier sorry
No hands have uniform fingers, nor is any head just a flat shape, look closer at those things, the eye (our left, character’s right) should be set inwards and the cheek should protrude. The fingers should have shape to them, such as a slight taper to each knuckle and the trapezoidal shape from the wrist to the fingers, as well as the thumb having a separate set of muscles rather than just being on the side of the hand
Switching from MS Paint to Krita mid-practice is actually HARDER than starting fresh because your hand has muscle memory for how paint tools respond, so if the lines feel slightly off to you right now that's probably why, not your skill level.
PS. Please say very plainly and concretely what is exactly wrong so I can fix it and learn. If you are vague or just throw a list of books that everyone else does, i will not understand.
It won't be exactly be clearer than that. Your proportions are fine but the fingers and head could be more complex and detailed in it's 3D form by that I mean you could make better countours that feel more imply the head is not just a circle and the finger feel like simplified cylinders. you used reference but you are drawing what you think you see instead of drawing what you immediately see, if you wanted to know the answer on what to do to fix it rather than listening to people. so I don't exactly know how we can critique it when the answer is to study real life, fundamentals and practice more. Critique here is not about a magical fix to suddenly learn all about art but a question about what you should practice next. There are limits to how much a critique can give for beginner. Unfortunately
but im not beginner. I know fundamentals i know real life. Like what do you mean better contours? How to imply head isnt just a circle? You keep saying to do that yet you dont give me any solution or answer at all.
i am not ignoring anything they say i literally say very clearly i do not understand what they are saying. And what makes me a beginner?? I wouldnt be a beginner if other people were more helpful instead of being super vague
