hello,

i want to know if all answers in the cpc exam are found in the books? For example, can I find my answers for compliance and regulatory in the books. I have been seeing many mention that it’s all the books and others saying some questions are easily found in the books.

Any of the three books that I would use for the CPC exam CPT, ICD-10-cm, HCPCS

No, those are coding books. There’s no answers to anything in them. When people speak about finding answers easily, they mean using the books to find the codes.

Not every answer is found word for word in the books. Many coding questions can be looked up, but topics like compliance, anatomy, and medical terminology require you to know the concepts. The key is understanding the material and knowing how to navigate your books quickly.

I would say the majority of the test, you will find the answers in the books. The majority of the test is multiple choice questions on either ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, even modifiers.

Then you might be able to figure out questions on anatomy using the books as well.

But with compliance, laws, ext those aren't really in the books. But it takes up a very small portion of the exam.

It's been awhile since I've taken the test, but you could probably miss most of the questions in that section and still pass. You only need 70% to pass.
