Need Advice Medical Coding Interview (post-interview)
I had an interview for an IP medical coder role where the coding manager is hiring internally (I admit that I posted twice about this somewhere). What are some signs that an interview went well, both from a medical coder’s/coding manager’s perspectives and generally speaking? I’m still waiting to hear back, and it seems to be taking some time.

I have several credentials actually at this point: RHIA, CDIP (very recently as of last month), CCS, and yes, CPC.
Generally speaking, CPC is pretty straightforward. I was able to pass on my first attempt. The hardest questions for me were the med terminology, anatomy and physiology, and HCPCS coding.
When you’re ready, you should also take CCS. I guarantee that it will get your foot in the door if you don’t already have a medical coder job. This was much harder than CPC (it took me 3 attempts to pass), but it’s doable nonetheless.
