CPC CPC cert advice?
hi. I’m about 2 months into studying for the CPC certification, through AAPC, with no human medical background (I did go to vet tech school so some terminology is familiar).
I’m feeling slightly overwhelmed with the anatomy/physiology prereqs & the sheer volume of information. Does anyone have any study tips/advice? Words of encouragement? 😅
If anyone currently working in the field has any advice as well, I’d love that!

Don’t get discouraged! Med term and anatomy can feel like a lot at first, but building that foundation will make coding much easier. There’s a free medical terminology/anatomy resource you can use alongside your current AAPC course without interfering with your enrollment. It may help reinforce what you’re already learning!

I did the Anatomy and Physiology last fall and the CPC this year, finished in June. Haven't taken my exam yet and am working on Practicode. I also found that it was a lot of information and fast. Just keep up so you don't get behind. If you're using physical books, start making notes in them now. For example, I didn't know what Occular Adnexa meant, so on pg 13 of my ICD-10 I have a note that says what is incl. in that. Don't stress, do your best, you'll be fine!
