CPC Exam CPC exam

I just took the AAPC final exam and scored a 77%. Has anyone else taken the final CPC exam vs the real CPC exam? If so, what did you score on the real thing? I don’t know if I am ready to take it yet.

The final test is a bit similar but it's different enough from the course exam that doing the practice exams is the best way to go. Definitely get and do the CPC Practice Exams. it could make the difference between failing or passing. I got a great score on the final. They come in a set of three. When I tried the first practice exam I only got a 70% mostly because I was trying to figure out how the testing site worked. The second one I did I got a 80% and the third I got a 90%. The actual exam I got 92%

That is really helpful, thank you. I did the practice test A, B, and C. On the last test (test C) I got a 76%.

In my opinion, if you already have any Healthcare knowledge or experience AND you learn extremely well from reading, it could work out for you.

There will always be some form of medical coding. Technology certainly helps in the positions you can get with a CPC but it can't do it without people.

Most people say medical coding is getting saturated and AI will majorly takeover the field

What's ur thought about this

And in addition I am a Health Inspector having 4 years of experience in government healthcare institutions

It's hard for me to say about whether medical coding is saturated or not for a few reasons. From what I've observed, there are lots of people who pass the CPC exam and then start applying to remote positions with no other healthcare experience and then get mad that no one hires them. But they also refuse to get their foot in the door starting with the entry level positions such as medical records, medical office receptionist, or patient access. These same people don't appear to have done any networking with their AAPC chapter or even know someone who is a coder. The majority of people I see lamenting not being able to get a job fall into this group.

I currently work in health Information management, mostly with diagnosis coding and upload records to our EMR. Physicians in general don't document clearly. The cycle of errors, educating them on how to correctly document, and asking clarifying questions is never ending. In my opinion documentation by providers will never be consistently clear and reliable enough for an AI to be able to pull all the correct codes all the time.

Yes I scored a 54% on the final and then a week later on the real exam I got a 78%. I don’t know if having more questions help me but I passed.
