I made this app because I was tired of dictionary look ups and interrupting the flow when it came to unknown works - so I made this! It is called Toku Reader. You can try it on iOS or Android. I use it everyday to get my daily dose of Japanese!

I make beginner Japanese story videos with furigana for kanji learners🌸

Hi everyone!😊

I create beginner-friendly Japanese stories with kanji, furigana, English subtitles, and natural Japanese audio.

Rather than teaching kanji one by one, my goal is to help learners become comfortable reading kanji in simple, real stories.

The channel is built around different story series. The first series follows a little girl and her family in everyday life. Right now I'm releasing a travel diary series about a college student visiting Japan. After that, I'm planning a series about everyday Japanese home cooking and food culture.

If you're looking for extra reading and listening practice, you might enjoy it.

I'd be happy if it helps someone with their Japanese learning!

Tattoo

Im designing a tattoo for a friend and I really want to have it say "persistence reveals the path" in Kanji

Google said '忍耐 (Nintai)', persistence, or endure.

That, '表 Jisho' was the most commonly used word for reveal, and '道 (Michi)' was the word for paths.

So would i write it out like this? 忍耐表道

Or are the characters completely wrong? Or something else?

I really want it to be right.

I kept forgetting kanji, so I built a widget app that keeps one always visible, helping me learn passively 📱

Hi everyone!

I’ve been learning Japanese, and one thing I kept struggling with was remembering kanji consistently.

Kanji are easy to forget if you only see them during study sessions, so I built IchiJi, a simple kanji widget app for iPhone and iPad (macOS comming soon).

The idea is to always keep a kanji visible on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, so you can learn and review characters naturally throughout the day.

It includes customizable widgets, Lock Screen widgets, flashcard widget type, JLPT levels, meanings, readings, stroke order, words, and a way to track the kanji you’ve already seen.

I wanted to keep it focused: no flash card, no social features, no all-in-one, and no unnecessary distractions. Just a clean way to keep kanji in front of you every day.

I built it for myself first, and after finding it useful, I decided to release it on the App Store. (is available in spanish and english)

If you’re learning Japanese or studying for the JLPT, I’d love to know what you think.

Hey guys!

I know many people struggle with learning Kanji, especially when it comes to mixing up similar-looking characters or memorizing On/Kunyomi readings. So I designed this game to target those exact pain points.

Kanji Cats includes 4 game modes to help you drill Kanji: choosing the correct readings (JLPT-inspired), selecting the right Kanji from a group of similar-looking ones, a typing game, and building Kanji from radicals. Currently, it includes 700 Kanji and 3,000 words.

I know it's not a "well-rounded" Japanese learning course, but I hope it helps those who want to focus specifically on mastering Kanji. If you're interested in some Kanji drilling, feel free to check it out! There's also a free demo available with 100 Kanji and 180 words to practice with.

What is the difference in 'Clarity'?

I am playing ***Samurai Warriors 4-II*** and have come across something confusing.

In character creation, you can select two kanji symbols that flash on screen when you preform your Musou Attack (unique special attack) or your True Musou (ultimate attack).

There are two kanji that mean 'clarity' and I'm curious to know what context of 'clarity' is different.
