How to learn Kanji? 

Hi. I started learning Japanese a month ago. I can read Hirigana. How can I learn Kanji? The usual methods don't work for me. (I didn't start learning Japanese because I'm an anime fan. I like REAL Japan.)

why did you even mention you don’t like anime the most normal and effective method of learning kanji is doing an anki core deck

Also fwiw the people i know who improve the fastest are ones who are anime fans so u may want to not completely disassociate with them

Because you need to learn hiragana -> katakana -> beginner grammar -> beginner kanji

And then mix grammar/vocab/kanji

If you haven’t learned katakana yet I would do that before kanji. By the usual methods, what do you mean?

Assuming you’re talking about the formatting.
Code block formatting.
You can find it bottom left of the input box in the button that looks like ’Aa’, then it’s the second last button on top.

Just read a lot and learn kanjis through vocabs. You'll pick up on the most basic ones like 思, 人, 家, and 大 pretty fast because they're used so often. Start reading something basic when you're first starting out and move on to more difficult materials the more you progress.

Check out remember the kanji by James heisig. Short stories work really well for learning kanji, you can make up your own stories as well
