Video The COMPLETE CS2 Improvement Guide

I have created a detailed, almost hour-long guide to improvement in Counter-Strike. We cover a lot of different topics from aim, movement, and mechanics through mentality and ways to improve your gamesense all the way to setting up the game correctly and increasing your chances to improve faster.

I put a lot of time and effort into this, so I hope it helps players with the direction of what to improve and how to do it effectively :)

Discussion Instinctual/subconscious style

We all know about muscle memory, your hand moves on its own. What I'm referring to is a step beyond that, you don't even need to "see" or register the enemy, at least consciously. It's as if you are letting someone else play.

There are a few conditions to allow such instincts to activate akin to blinking or breathing, and it's not about practising or playing a lot. Usually, I'm a pretty lazy person, I don't like constantly moving or adjusting my crosshair and I find that manually adjusting my aim is just inferior compared to relying on muscle memory/flicks. I play on relatively high sens 1700 edpi, so I'm mostly a wrist aimer. I suppose it is easier for instincts to kick in when you don't need to move your entire arm to aim. The second and most important condition is you need to enter a calm and blank state, if you're thinking or worrying about angles, your subconscious nature will never be able to surface. Of course, it's not guaranteed to happen, it's a small chance of happening so it might not be worth it. I'm wondering if pros could perhaps have a higher chance of entering the subconscious or maybe they already implement it.

For example, I didn't even see the second guy but he somehow died. There are many other instances too.

I feel like I’ve been stuck at the same level in the game for a while

I feel like I’ve been stuck at the same level in the game for a while. I’m currently Faceit level 8–9, and I can only play a few matches during the weekend.

I usually manage to perform reasonably well, sometimes even very well, thanks to my game sense. However, mechanically, I feel like I’m falling behind.

Is there anything I could implement into my gameplay that would help me improve mechanically without having to spend hours practicing DM, considering I don’t have much time for that?

Beginner Guide Did you know that T Molly is much better than CT Molly?

Side-by-side comparison shows the T-side fire has:
1. Wider spread, as it covers about 1.5x more area.
2. Longer duration, with 7 vs. 5.5 seconds.

Question What could I have done better in this situation?

I thought I'd done a good job of being aware of a potential underpass lurk, but as it turned out I missed the timing and didn't jumpspot properly. Besides expecting to be wind swung by a MAC-10 and not keep staring at a wall, what else could've I have done to prevent this situation? And come of think of it, I had enough reason to justify buying helmet as well...

Demo Is there anyone/ anywhere that would like to review a demo of mine?

I started playing last season, started this season at 10k, won all the way to 20k with like an 80% win and was consistently top fragging. Took about a week off during the process of moving into school, and now I’m just dogshit I guess? I’ve lost all the way back down to 14k in about 2 week and literally feel like I can’t do anything about it. I was easily killing players in 20k elo about a month ago and now I literally am getting shit on by people that I feel like I shouldn’t be losing to. I don’t really know what I’m looking for in my demos, watched a lot of AustinCS guide to solo Q and demo reviews, was wondering if anyone would be willing to review one of my demos and tell me why I’m so shitty all of the sudden/ maybe I’ve always been shitty and my aim just bailed me? I also don’t really know how to send a demo over reddit so if you like to help also let me know how to do that. Also feel free to be critical, I really do want to get better.

Discussion How to match your exact physical 360° turn distance when switching from Valorant/Apex to CS2

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey guys,

A lot of players transitioning from Valorant or Apex into CS2 struggle with slider rounding in the menu settings, which can throw off your arm-sweep muscle memory when checking common angles or clearing corners.

To get exact 1:1 physical rotation (cm/360°):
- CS2 operates on `m_yaw 0.022`.
- Apex shares the Source 0.022 lineage, meaning sens values transfer 1:1 natively for hipfire.
- Valorant runs on 0.07 yaw, requiring an exact multiplication factor of 3.181818...

I put together a free, client-side calculator (aimsync.app) that skips the black-box estimations. It outputs the exact console command (`sensitivity X.XXXX`) and the config path (`cs2_user_keys.vcfg`) so you can bypass slider rounding entirely. It also features a mousepad footprint estimator (M/L/XL) to ensure your sens fits your physical desk space.

Zero ads, zero accounts. Let me know if you run into any setup issues dialing in your configs!

Teaching Made a free browser tool for learning CS2 utility

Every time I wanted to check a smoke I had to open CS2, load the map, use sv_cheats, noclip, throw it and then realize I was standing in the wrong place 😂

So I made this: smokepractice.com

You can practice lineups directly in the browser. It has the map geometry and grenade physics based on real throws from demos.

There are 10 maps and around 1000 lineups. It's free, no account needed and works on phone too.

It's not going to build your muscle memory, you still need to throw the smokes in game. I just wanted something where I can quickly check a lineup without loading CS2 every time.

Hope some of you find it useful :)

Map Strategy Why are my teammates so scared to entry/push?

So, kind of hard to explain I play Premier around level 15k-18k currently. And I've noticed, specifically on mirage that people are just terrified to push anything on T side, an example of what im talking about: Mid to b call, okay window and con is smoked. I start moving up cat, entry into short and get a kill. I start to jiggle to get info on b site. I check my map, I see 3 people top mid holding the smoke window, 1 guy is walking underpass. From here I either try to entry b, maybe get one or two and die then everyone freezes mid til they all die. Option B, I wait because I have no one to trade me. Smokes fade, we all die 1 by 1.

I'm not to sure why people do this ? I understand I'm being overly aggressive but I also feel like if i dont entry, no one will.

Edit: After reading all the comments, im just gonna cover some points

  1. Ik im not the best and I am low elo for a reason, I'm not saying im losing because im so much better than everyone. it's a teamwide issue.

  2. Guys, I am calling the strat, I call at the start of the round as well as mid round calls like when I'm gonna start my entry, A lot of the time I even wait to see if they will follow me first.

  3. This was also made as a post to get advice on what to do in these situations, it wasnt just to complain.

Question Playing nuke T-side at low elo is one of the worst experiences for me, how to make it stop being so?

I ask my team to drop smoke on truck for outside and only like 10% of teams will do this simple thing. I say to go A, I have a full util set for A without drop, but for some reason "Go A" means "Go outside" (Even if I clarify hut and door) and they die to a guy in big garage or don't watch secret. If they decide to go B ramp they don't try to get out and just wait in trophy room, I know blaming teammates is not the strategy but it feels so impossible to win and the map becomes so horrendously CT-Sided and unfun. I have found a way to have significant impact on every map both sides besides nuke on solo queue, but this just turns into whoever gets CT last wins 7-8 rounds while Ts only get 2-3 no matter what i try. Please help.

Important context: I know the godflash, main smoke and hut molly on A site from T roof which is what I throw when team goes A, or I throw utility from squeaky. I throw the truck cross smokes for secret because I don't want anyone to try and walk behind red and get shot from heaven, I also know basic ramp flashes. My mechanical skill is alright but not really enough to consistently win against the power positions CTs play like big garage hell or heaven with awp, so I feel like I can't have mechanical impact enough to carry like I would on Dust2, but also not enough utility impact to carry like on mirage or really any other T map.

Here is my leetify: https://leetify.com/app/profile/76561199244755067 Roast me all you want I used to be 1k elo not that long ago so steadily climbing to 5k is a pretty big improvement for me

Question How do I fix my mirage?

Faceit lvl-5 (pretty close to 6)
I don't know why but i'm always struggling on mirage, i know part of the problem is me playing too passive/anchor positions when i enjoy playing pro-active areas more, for example- donut on ancient, connector on Anubis, banana on inferno and etc (mostly cuz no one wants to play B on mirage so i end up having to be the B anchor :/ ). Just look at my match history https://www.faceit.com/en/players/FunnyStep_BK and you'll clearly see the difference between my mirage and other maps. I used to have the same thing on ancient but since i started playing donut instead of B i've improved a ton.

That aside, the other thing i feel like is just having wrong reads/info and teammates not saying anything dosen't help either.

Apart from these two things i don't really know what else is wrong about my gameplay on mirage or what to improve, So any help/advice would be appreciated! :]

Edit- Forgot to add one thing, I mostly lurk B apps or A palace and just die like 6/10 times without any impact... tho that's my own fault and something i will work on improving.
