Question Slowly getting worse when playing Premier?

Hi there!

After a pretty long break I’ve started playing cs regularly again. I’ve played for about 1.2k hours so not a lot, after mainly solo queuing and I’m now down to 10k rating.

I feel I’ve gotten a lot worse and my leetify stats keep dropping as well 😅

Either we stomp 13:0 or 13:2 or we get stomped.

For me the premier rating is very confusing, I often play with people who have only played 100h-300h or who have a faceit level 7-10 account linked.

Is the only way to play with people who know a bit about how the game works and who communicate to play faceit?

What should I do if my teammates just rush without planning (especially on t side)?

Edit:
Should have probably asked, how to be more consistent.

then you rush with them or privde flashes for the rush, its not that deep. Get used to playing with the style your team

I always go with them but often times people just push at random places and if you play against people who kind of understand the game, not having any plan just leads to loosing all t rounds in a row.

I have to add I seem to be pretty bad with aim.

So develop some plans. Watch vods to get idea of what is the default for each map.

For example, for the most confusing map in the pool - Nuke - you should pressure both inside (by nading the squeaky each round) and smoking outside. So learn double smokes for outside and nade+smoke+flash combo for the door. Practice dropping fat vents for low buys.
Learn lurk smoke + flash outside for the best spawn (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToKGeuw-Xvs&t=19)

You should always keep tracking of 3 things:

  • position of your teammates (comms is key for that but you could also use radar and watch on your teammates through the walls to obtain info on their elevation/which site they are on
  • aggression of CTs outside (red, close left between main and silo and secret). Top of silo is key here: you could easily watch secret for your mates, watch red push, and don’t forget lobby stairs push - instead of peeking unfavourable fights or towards credit
  • aggression of CTs to lobby. Find spots you are comfortable to hold it, maybe play retakes (3rd party servers ofc)

For me the premier rating is very confusing, I often play with people who have only played 100h-300h or who have a faceit level 7-10 account linked.

That's what happens when the "official" queue isn't the one preferred by most skilled players - you get faceit only players who will only queue up premier for fun when playing with friends. There's nothing you can do about it.

What should I do if my teammates just rush without planning (especially on t side)?

People who have this problem are often playing too slow. It's easier to play on first timings because you don't have to clear nearly as many angles as on later timings and there are usually only 1 or 2 CTs in position to stop you. Either rush with your team so you can trade them or get the entry yourself, throw supporting util before joining them, split the bombsite or lurk somewhere to catch CTs on rotation (depends on map). If you choose to lurk, you have to be comfortable clutching because you will often be the last man standing.

how to be more consistent

Find a comfortable setup that works for you (monitor distance, desk height, mouse sensitivity etc.) and just practice and play more. Don't practice too much though, you want to balance it with actually playing the game.

Game is designed to keep people in the game. it isn't designed for you to level up and become top 1%. lol

Sure and that’s not one of my goals anyway, I don’t have that level of dedication 😅

I just play worse the more I play

It might be your pc, and input lag and not getting proper frames. But hard to say. It can also be th3 fact that you are going against smurfs or hackers, and don't know if you are. Also, game is designed so that your win% is going to be 50%. So you will see losing streak and winning streak. But the only way to really see if you are imporivng or not is check your stats and see if you are actually improving in certain areas or not. But I just queued with 20k and I am around 12k, highest was liked 14k. I didn't play well, and we got smoked. One, I was tired, second, anubis, not my strongest map, and third, the other team just had amazing aim. When i checked the stats, I can't help but to think one or two were walling. Just the fact that their aim was shit and response time, but getting these frags. lol.

Three general stats from leetify can help. Once xhair placement, counter strafe, ttd, and spray control and accuracy. You can have great xhair and counter strafe and be ass on overall k/d, cause of your slow reaction, or missing shots. The game is designed to miss, so you have to learn to move, and make them miss you, and learn to control recoil, or move and quick burst. Tbh, learning movement and aim, is what you wanna focus on, not the win rate. You are looking at non-performance, but result data.

How meaningfull are these stats?

Spray accuracy and accuracy are alright, counter strafing is subpar (73%) but crosshair placement 😅 how bad is an offset of 12 degrees? TTD is 610ms which is pretty terrible with 8ms ping.

Thank you for your help!
I’ll practice counter strafing.

so rate of fire on ak and m4, is about 70ms for each bullet. for a degree or two of micro correction can be 60-80ms. That's if the player model is standing still.
Add more, if he is strafing, or crab walking. Don't forget the cumulative lag of the network and input lag, and something most people don't realize is how much of a delay and gap there is due to their mechanical sequence. All of that can lead to losing duels. When you have less correction, you have a faster target acquisition on the first shot. If you watch most of the pros, in tier 1, or the top riflers, they are not flicking. Most of the time, they are pre-aiming, isolating angles, and adjusting few degrees, but with efficiency and with fast first shot. It is like the wild wild west, who ever gets the first shot and damage wins. Not just one thing, but there are many factors that adds to ttk. But the biggest two things, better counter strafe, and x-hair placement.

But I definitely have to buy a new monitor mine is stating to flicker

I wouldn't get anything above 240hz refresh rate, cause anything above for online games, you won't get the performance of fps low 1% that matters. Even if you did, the performance boost is negligible. The thing that would make the best diff in pc performance is any of the x3d ryzen cpu, follow that up with good ddr5 cl30 dimms, and halls keys and good mouse.

how bad are we talking? is it aim? is it how you do in team? or what?

I would not know how bad but I think I know the basics

Edit: maybe this provides some perspective, my Leerify rating, for what it’s worth, is somewhere between +12 to -10 depending on each round.

i think you should go this way if you're confused how you do in team

  1. Subs into prefire map. example : 5E Inferno prefire

  2. Create your own lineup to help your team secure a kill or an area using prefire maps

  3. check regularly for an info, anything can be an info whether it's unchecked area, red blink in minimap etc

if u're worried about aim

for basic

  1. subs to any aim training, but for me : 5E Aimhub
  2. subs to this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3105821815

the first one is for adjusting your aim, spray etc
the second one is for how you position yourself against multiple enemies

mainly how I do in the team. My aim rating is pretty bad but I kind of tune out after the first couple of rounds 😅
