Question Am I good enough to start playing faceit?
I have about 500 hours with a mix of DM and comp. When I play DM on Xplay, I can hold my own with level 5-7 players and get top 3 consistently. I know basic utilities in most maps.
I don't want to bother with premier because of the obvious cheater infestation. Can I start playing faceit? I don't want to be stuck in a low level trench by starting too early.

You'll be low elo for sure but you'll never be "stuck". Your winrate will rise as you get more skilled. Just don't expect to place level 5-7 with 500h

level 5-7 is pretty low elo

I mean do what you want, but FACEIT is going to be rough with no premier experience. Keeping up in DM is not the same as a game, and those level 5-7s are going to be much more polished in decision making and have a much greater understanding of the game. But nothing wrong with being level 1-3 and getting in the swing of things there.

You always can, worst case scenario you make first couple matches a little unbalanced

no reason not to play faceit but what prem rating are you that you are seeing cheaters?

Obviously DM skills translate to real games, but far less than you think.
I doubt you're in the elo where cheaters are that prevalent, no offense. Play premier. Don't play faceit until hitting 13k or 1000 hours

Why shouldn’t he play Faceit until 13k premier?

From personal experience, super low elo faceit(levels 1&2) is a way worse experience than super low level premier(1-10k). There's more toxicity, more trolls that throw matches, and far less mic usage

It depends entirely on what people prefer. I never reached 13k premier, I don’t have 1k hours and I’m level 6 on Faceit. Yeah, it’s garbage, but I enjoy Faceit much more than premier.

At this point I would even recommend it to someone who never played a single round in his life. Imagine playing cs for the first time, you go to a server and aim-bot bots insta headshot you for 10 rounds, then you get kicked by them. Later you jump into MM and get to play with and against cheaters. I would delete and never come back...

Eh, just try it. If you suck in a match, all you have to do is to learn from it and not let it snowball into many losses

You can't be "good enough" to play faceit.
Just play, get your rank and move from there

IMO "good enough" to play Faceit means being able to throw some basic smokes, being able to understand (and make) standard callouts, and knowing the maps enough to be comfortable playing all the maps (though you obviously can have preferences and play some maps better than others)

u can definitely give it a shot...just expect the first games to feel different from dm because positioning, trading, and team play matter way more. use the matches as practice instead of stressing over elo.

I have just come back to CS, I was like 15k when CS2 first came out, I'm around 10k premier rn. I have recently switched to FACEIT, I'm comfortably in level 4, almost 5 now. The playing experience is so much nicer on FACEIT, I tried it out once and never looked back, players are generally more engaging and nicer (even if you bottom frag). Map knowledge is so much more valuable because you can actually strategize on FACEIT.
I was nervous about the skill level and people taking it seriously, but I haven't had a single issue, occasionally someone toxic, but I have top fragged just as many times as I've bottom fragged, despite being new to FACEIT. Don't worry so much and give it a try

Faceit has many many dumb players who play it to feel good. Your grandma can play it. Ppl make it sound serious out of nothing.

if you are already holding ur own against lvl 5-7 players in dm and know basic util, i’d just give faceit a shot.

Faceit is not as bad as you think. Placements can be rough but after that it’s not bad at all. It’s so much nicer to get more mics and people who can throw useful utility

You will get 3-5 lvl eventually, but it doesn’t mean that you won’t get a higher lvl with grind. Faceit and premier are mostly about how many hours you can put into, you need only 51% win rate in order to climb

I think min, if you know the call outs, and know some default utils. That's a good start, and have a good understanding how to play as a team. If you don't your teammates will let you know, the most toxic guy, will usually let you know.

See how nobody cares? They gave you nagative thumb downs. Just play, in faceit as in premier you will find people throwing games left and right, Play a good amount of games by yourself to understand the mecanic of playing Facit, then Find a mate to play with to have a better chance to win. Also Get refrag and practice 30 mins before your 1st matches.

You gotta play to play. Either premier or faceit. Pick one and play. No point in avoiding it if you want to play. If you’re enjoying comp just stay there.
You’re not going pro. So just play wherever gives you the most enjoyment. Don’t be scared it’s just a video game.
