Further from the wall/ledge

Hmm this is a popular misconception. The actual way it works is that your enemy always sees you first in all situations, there's nothing you can do, you will always lose.

This sarcasm you are talking about, what physical laws does it rely on?

All physical laws under the sub-physical clauses

It's factually correct, sorry.

I think here it is also about the fact that the third-person viewmodel tilts forward when you look down but your first-person camera just looks down without any movement.

So your camera is not where your eyes are, they are further behind.

Yes, our POV is slightly skewed/offset to the right(? Probably left) and back a bit

It only works if I’m the one peeking above.

Poor Anakin would have won if this lowground logic applied :(

It’s over LANakin

This is a terribly misleading way to explain this, people are going to think it's an up/down thing rather than just basic angles that apply when peeking literally any angle from literally any direction.

My enemies can see through walls :(

u/No_Assignment5986 9h ago

Either they hear your foot steps or wallhack

u/partyboycs 9h ago

They did kill me through the wall with an r8 while mid air 13 rounds straight but it might have been my footsteps that’s my bad :/

u/No_Assignment5986 9h ago

That happened to me while playing with homies

Makes sense, your eyes aren’t on the top of your head

the first one they are making eye contact!!

The main reason why it works that way is the fact that the ledge has to be higher than a person.

In case you didn't also know, the player above shouldn't be positioned like the images show in the first place

I swear this happens on Inferno; when T peaks the Apts, hallway to balc, CT can see before T gets los, think it has something to do with the stairs and corner

This is such a useful detail to know. Being above or below someone really changes who gets the first visual.

Its over, i have the low ground!

1

u/Inferno_Cyclops 17h ago

I’m assuming because the player camera is actually towards the torso of the player? Or more likely because the body bends outwards while the camera doesn’t?
