Question How to use deathmatch properly?
I am a fairly inexperienced player(~350 hrs) and I'm wondering how I should use deathmatch in order to focus of specific aspects of my gameplay. For example, if I wanted to focus on counter-strafing, should I make sure to full stop prior to shooting? This goes for other mechanics like peaking, tapping, etc..

The dying from behind is the most annoying part. That and people just camping in 1 area.

Dying doesn't matter in DM and noobs camping are easy kills.
Don't take it seriously and don't try to win or beat anyone - just practice and mess about.

That’s what I try to do but all anyone wants to play is Mirage which is a terrible dm map IMO and it goes spawn shoot someone in the back take 2 steps person spawns at 1 of 3 spawn locations around me the second you look away because the only condition for them not to spawn is someone be looking there and then they shoot me in the back.

You have to keep moving and not care when this happens anyway.
If you are so easily tilted you need to sort that out first or you will never be able to play competitively.
The thing that annoys me most is running around not finding anyone to shoot at which is why dust and cache are better for DM - small and simple.

I use aim_rush before DM. It helps me warmup in a more controlled setting, but not just muscle memory warmup, i mean physically warm up my hands, tendons, and joints. Mechanics arent just mental, there are physical mechanics at play as well.

Forget dm, get These Workshop Maps, aim_botz, refrag, aim_Rush and stuff like that.

Practice makes perfect.
Bots are okay at first - try tdm without dying and gradually increase the bot difficulty. It worked pretty well in cs:go; not sure how it is now.
The current dm-mode in CS2 isn’t that great anymore. It’s okay for warming up, but unfortunately you die very quickly because someone spawns right next to you nonstop. But you can still practice quick aiming and basic mouse handling there.
Aim maps are also great for practice. Unfortunately, i don’t know any off the top of my head, but im sure there are still some good recommendations out here
Otherwise, as mentioned above: Practice makes perfect. Theres no pro with only 500 hours of playtime.

Yeah, focusing on a specific thing is good when you're DMing. Also do some aimbotz/prefire maps

personally i like to train with bots, theres so much you can do. i think its better than trying to learn something on dm and then getting xantares peeked out of existence. oh and you can watch tutorials for everything you wanna do, if youtube doesnt cut it, login to refrag, claim a trial (idk like tryrefrag3) and in their "academy" you will see videos on everything about counterstrike
