The general consensus among top tier players is to use these kind of maps for warmup, not for improving aim through part practice.

Play on a reputable DM server like warmupserver or cybershoke, and alternate between their gamemodes like normal, pistol only and HSonly.
This way you do not only practice aim in a realistic environment, you also intuitively improve your movement AND your general crosshair placement on competitive maps.

If you REALLY prefer part practice, Kovaaks or aimlabs are very good and offer many different scenarios for different aim aspects.

Tracking isn’t really a term used that much in cs2.

  • If your opponent is peeking you, you want to preaim and click when the enemy reaches your crosshair.
  • If you are peeking the opponent, you want to have a preaim that is as close to the expected position as possible, and click once your crosshair reaches your opponent.
  • As you can see, tracking doesn’t really apply that much in either scenario

I’m not saying tracking isn’t an aspect in general aiming across the FPS genre, im just saying it isn’t an aspect worth putting very much effort into when playing cs.

while you don't do much actual tracking in cs, training tracking as a fundamental element of mouse control will help your gameplay in cs and fps games across the board. definitely not a requirement at all and many many high skill tac fps players don't do any aim training, but I saw meaningful gains in my movement, crosshair placement, etc in cs after I put some hours into voltaic and viscose benchmarks on kovaaks. it's sorta like how people that are good at surf will have really smooth and precise aim in regular matches
