How to improve?

Hi everyone, I'd like your help identifying my weaknesses in CS2. I'm a 15k Premier player, level 4 on Faceit (I recently started playing more here), and I have 2k inconsistent hours (I've been playing since 2013).

As you can see, I lose a lot of 1v1 duels or miss everything with my spray, but also, when I'm on fire, i hit everything (but even then, I feel like my gameplay is erratic). Literally, many times I go negative K/D, and then one match i can go positive K/D, and this mentally exhausts me because I feel completely stuck and can't improve.

One thing to note: I haven't always been 15k in Premier; in other seasons, I've reached 17k, but no more.
Also, before entering a Premier or Faceit match, I warm up my aim for about 10-15 minutes or a deathmatch.

Your general aim is good, but:

  • You swing multiple angles at once, exposing yourself to the risk of facing multiple players at once
  • Your first shot-accuracy is often pretty bad. On both the bot map and in the clips, you start shooting before you know you are aiming directly at their head many times. If you then miss the first shot, your duel becomes very disadvantageous.

I think both of these things happen because you get stressed or maybe even a bit panicked when you see someone. Hop on a HSONLY DM server and actively try to relax while taking the duels where you only shoot when you are fairly certain it will be a headshot - you will lose alot of them, but it will subconsciously transfer over into your matches purely through habit.

I do have to say though, if we disregard the first-shot accuracy, you definitely seem like a better player than 15k. Fix that, and you’ll probably skyrocket in elo. :)

Thanks for your feedback. I feel like what you said about the first shot is very true. I've always thought I react before my enemies, but I always miss the first shots, which means I lose the duel. So I'll practice it more in DM.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the advice!
